Independent Design Review Panel Assessment
A desk-based review by The Design Review Panel of your completed self-assessment and the material submitted with it, concluding in the Panel’s own Design Review Panel Certificate.
What you receive
The Panel considers the scheme against the same twelve considerations as your self-assessment. It reaches its own conclusion and issues its own Design Review Panel Certificate.
The Panel may agree with your self-assessment. It may not. Divergence is expected and normal. One is your team’s own view of its scheme; the other is an outside view of that view.
Both Panel assessments are limited to consideration of the scheme against the twelve Building for a Healthy Life considerations. Neither is professional advice, and neither guarantees planning permission or any other approval.
The fee

If you materially revise a scheme after assessing it, you can carry out a further self-assessment of the revised scheme at no charge, and return for a further Panel assessment at around 30% less than the original fee. This is open to anyone who materially revises a scheme, whatever the outcome of the first assessment.
Turnaround, and expedited feedback
The Panel aims to issue its certificate 14 working days after the latest of our confirming the booking, receiving cleared payment and receiving the information for review.
Where a submission deadline will not wait, either Panel assessment can be expedited for an additional £975 + VAT, bringing the Panel’s certificate to 7 working days after the same trigger rather than fourteen. Subject to Panel availability, and confirmed — or declined, with that part of your payment cancelled or refunded — as part of our confirmation of your booking.

An Independent Design Review Panel Assessment is carried out by the Panel’s own reviewers; its findings are reached independently and are not contingent on any self-assessment outcome recorded in this tool or on the fee paid.
